Alright, so this is the real title. Finally finished, after many hours of hard labor, and lugging it around the streets of Manhattan as I went to and from class. Sorry that the photo isn't that great either.

I freakin' love this painting.

Uhm... yeah. Oil on canvas, about 4' wide and 5'9" ish tall.

in all honesty, I think that this battle between Optimus and Megs represents all the other battles between previous Optimuses and Megses, both literally and figuratively. I think it also sums up the typical "good vs. evil", "light vs. dark", "freedom vs. oppression" etc, etc. I think it's really strange that I just started to draw those shapes on there, all Chuck Close-like, after having a dream where I was convinced I was going to die. (The dream started out with my being wrongly convicted of a crime, and the sentence was capital punishment, and the rest of the dream was going through the motions of having to live the days before my execution knowing that I was going to die. Strangely enough, it ended the night before I was to be euthanized.) But I think that dream, in a really strange way, helped in making this. And though I can honestly say that I could work on this for ever and not ever finish it, I think it's at a good stopping point now.

Next personal assignment? Paint robots. How awesome is that?
